OCN Creative Writing Skills (Level 3)

Applicants to the course should have successfully completed the Level 2 Creative Writing course or demonstrate previous experience of creative writing.

OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Subsidiary Diploma in Art and Design - Graphics

The Graphics and Photography Pathway is a two-year course split into two one-year elements. In the first year, you’ll be placed onto the Subsidiary Diploma, where you’ll study 9 units, 18 in total over the 2 years. This is the equivalent of 3 x A Levels You’ll study units like Digital Technology, Branding for Design, Digital Photography, Animation, Graphic Design, Motion Graphics Advertising Photography and Fashion Photography. A typical unit consists of initial research, experimentation, generating ideas for a brief, developing ideas, presenting ideas to a client, using client feedback to refine ideas, and presenting a final outcome in response to a brief. Each unit is designed to be delivered as a project, based on commercial outcomes.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media Practice

This foundation co​urse is highly practical and designed to support the development of creative skills and a comprehensive portfolio of work for progression to university. This qualification has been designed around holistic, explorative, and integrated creative teaching approaches that are conducive to deep learning and skills development, preparing learners for progression. Content and assessment criteria are designed to encompass all specialist pathways within the art, design, and media sectors. Following initial exploration and experimentation, learners can identify a specialist pathway they wish to focus on or continue to work broadly across multiple specialist areas. The Exploratory phase will encourage experimental practice and creative risk-taking before leading toward the Final Major Project and End of Year Show.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National 540 Diploma in Art and Design Practice

The 540 Diploma, equivalent to 1.5 A Levels, is for learners who are looking to study art and design as a one-year, full-time course and for those who wish to take it alongside another area of contrasting or complementary study, as part of a two-year, full-time study programme. This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further education, higher education and training or employment in the Art & Design industry. This programmes is designed for progression and to provide a substantial portfolio as an outcome of undertaking significant experimental explorations and projects that showcases learners’ skills and knowledge will prepare them for progression. Reducing the number of units and assessments allows for largescale projects and provides a holistic learning experience for all. This enables a diagnostic process that balances development of skills with personal growth and intentions. The breadth of study in each qualification gives learners opportunities to consider their practice in the context of professional practice with work from inception of ideas to completion. The assessment enables learners to demonstrate valuable skills such as analysis, planning, organisation and critical thinking in the context of developing practical outcomes. Core technical skills development that covers all practices has been embedded throughout the programme.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Art and Design Practice

The Extended Diploma, equivalent to three A Levels, is a two-year, full-time course that meets entry requirements for learners who want to progress to higher education courses in art and design areas before entering employment.. This qualification has been designed to provide learners with the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further education, higher education and training or employment in the Art & Design industry. This programmes is designed for progression and to provide a substantial portfolio as an outcome of undertaking significant experimental explorations and projects that showcases learners’ skills and knowledge will prepare them for progression.
