The ‘Gadget Box’ has been designed and created by South West College (SWC) Computing Lecturer, John Lyons, in a bid to maximise a more conducive learning environment for both students and staff in the classroom.
The brand new ‘Mind Me at SWC’ Health and wellbeing hub has just launched at the Technology and Skills Centre in Enniskillen. The Hub follows on from a number of new health and well-being initiatives, recently launched across SWC including ‘Mental Health First Aiders’ and an online ‘Mental Health Awareness Module and Toolkit of Resources.’
Over 300 lecturing staff came together at SWC Dungannon on Monday for the annual SWC Curriculum Conference - ‘It’s good to talk; it’s good to listen’.

Learning through innovation was the focus of a pioneering ‘Erne Academy’ launched today, Tuesday 15th October, on the site of the new South West College Erne Campus. South West College in association with Tracey Brothers Ltd., the main contractors responsible for the Campus build, have collaborated to create a unique learning opportunity for students.

The South West College (SWC) Catering Department has concluded a new pilot course – ‘Sustainability in Catering’ – designed to support both the educational and behavioural change in regards to local food and sustainability through the Food for Thought Project.
South West College have today, Monday 16th September, announced a significant new partnership with The Open University, launching three new degree and top-up degree courses. These new degree courses will complement the college’s existing curriculum and are approved as; a BSc (Hons.) in Sport and Exercise, a BSc (Hons.) in Engineering, and a BSc (Hons.) in Construction Engineering and Management.
The IDEA Centre at South West College in Omagh recently hosted an introduction to IP seminar – ‘Intellectual Property: What’s it all about?’ which offered attendees the chance to hear from industry experts and local entrepreneurs navigating the Intellectual Property (IP) process.
This year has seen the launch of the exciting and extremely rewarding Intergenerational Café at South West College (SWC) – a new social space for the exchange of skills and traditions to help bridge the gap between generations in the local community.
