South West College hosted its fourth Early Years Conference as close to 160 early years providers and Primary School teachers attended the conference. The theme for this year’s conference was ‘Developing physical literacy skills in the Early Years’
The CREST pavilion (Centre for Renewable Energies and Sustainable Technologies) at South West College was announced as winner of the Sustainability Award at the recent CABE (Chartered Association of Building Engineers) Built Environment Awards in Warwickshire.
The Institute of Innovation and Knowledge Exchange NI launched on Wednesday 8th November at South West College, Dungannon Campus. This event celebrated the strong evolution of partnership between education and businesses in the South West region, and showcased the accelerated level of knowledge exchanges taking place to strengthen Northern Ireland’s innovation capability for the future.

Seafood lovers in Dungannon joined the rest of the UK to celebrate Seafood Week (6-13 October 2017) and the Dolphin Takeaway, officially NI’s Best Fish & Chip Shop, marked the occasion with a tasty pop-up event at SWC, Dungannon in aid of the Fishermen’s Mission charity.
Even though the doors are closed at all South West College campuses today, Tuesday 17th October, due to the aftermath of storm Ophelia, teaching activities at the College will continue throughout the day via the College’s Virtual Learning programme.

The South West College Blog, Way out West, picked up the award in the blog category at the 2017 Digital Communication Awards, which took place in Berlin on Friday 29th September. The blog, which was launched in January 2016 and offers ‘a new voice from within South West College’, saw off competition from companies such as IKEA and IBM to win the prestigious award in a competition which aims to ‘honour outstanding projects, campaigns and innovations in the field of online communications.’
