Learning Resource Centres
South West College’s Learning Resource Centres (LRCs) are student-centred areas, providing a wide range of quality resources to enhance the student’s learning experience. The LRC contains traditional educational resources such as books, journals, software and audio/visual materials, but also encourages the use of electronic information resources. In addition to the College’s resources, Higher Education students will also have access to a wealth of information through their associated University. The Centres include high speed Internet access computers, printers, copiers and scanner to assist in student learning.
After recent improvements the centres now offer dedicated areas for the following:
Ipad technology and e-readers to encourage interactive learning
Fast access printing facilities
Study Pods for both individual and group work
Soft seating area to browse journals/newspapers
South West College aims to create new and innovative ways of learning and to provide an environment which is both comfortable and modern. LRC staff are available to support the students in exploring the resources available and will also provide tailor-made workshops to help students during their course of study. For information or support please contact the LRC Co-ordinator at your campus.
