Great Britain College Consortium (GBCC)
South West College is a proud member of the Great Britain College Consortium (GBCC) which represents a grouping of four highly reputable and innovative UK further education colleges - South West College, Aset North East College Scotland, Cardiff and Vale College and Cornwall College.
The colleges are drawn from each of the UK`s four constituent nations – Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland and bring together a huge and diverse pool of expertise and subject coverage.
The chief purpose of GBCC’s activity in Malaysia is to work alongside the Malaysian government to offer an innovative and relevant Recognition of Prior Experiential Learning (RPEL) programme which will enable participants to realise their goal of achieving a Level 4 accreditation of their existing skills, experience and achievements. GBCC‘s programme will make a tangible and large-scale benefit to Malaysia`s ambitious agenda for up-skilling the nation’s workforce as part of its Vision 2020.
At the heart of GBCC`s philosophy is a commitment to providing its programme participants with an experience which is both dynamic and reflective and is of the highest quality. Undertaking the RPEL programme successfully can lead to a range of opportunities (work-place based, vocational and educational) which might otherwise not be possible for many of the programme’s participants.
GBCC believes that its assessors and participants must at all times be firmly at the heart of all its activities and should play a prominent role in helping to shape and drive GBCC` s current and future policies and strategies.
