Description

NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Retail Skills is suitable for those who want to work in the retail sector or those who want to increase their skills level. This qualification allow you to learn, develop and practice the skills required for employment and/or career progression in retail as a sales professional.

Additional Information

You will be expected to secure work placement in a retail or business based environment. You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology. You will also study broader transferable skills in Employability and Personal and Social Development.

Course Content

You will complete units in the following areas: Sales, Customer Support, Customer Complaints, Choosing Products, Positive Impression, and Health and Safety

Assessment Method

You will learn on the job in the work environment and compile a portfolio of evidence for assessment. There will also be online tests, group work, questioning and observation in a work place setting.

Progression Opportunities

Progression to other courses within the South West College, for example NVQ L2 ICT is recommended. Other options include employment. These qualifications can help you to progress in a wide range of retails roles.

Entry Requirements

GCSE English & Maths or Essential Skills L2 Communication / L2 Application of Number are desirable criteria. Initial Assessment/Interview is required.
