Description

This Level 2 in Refrigeration will appeal to students that are interested in the area of Refrigeration & Air Conditioning. It aims to provide you with practical skills & theoretical knowledge needed to work within this industry. This course has been designed for applicants who are working or in placement within the industry.

Additional Information

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT at an appropriate level if you do not have GCSE grade C or Level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology. You will also study broader transferable skills in employability and Personal and Social Development where appropriate.

Course Content

Students will learn practical skills needed to install and maintain refrigeration systems. the practical skills are also complimented with theory units aimed to provide students with the working principles of the systems they will encounter in the work placements.

Assessment Method

Theory units are assessed by online evolve examinations at the end of each unit. Students will also complete practical assignments in a practical portfolio completed in the workshop/ An onsite log book must be completed to show evidence gathered from your workplace.

Progression Opportunities

On completion of this qualification learners may progress into employment or onto the Level 3 Diploma in Servicing and Maintaining Refrigeration Systems.

Entry Requirements

Students need a minimum grade D in GCSE Maths and, a D in GCSE English in order to get a training credit from Jobs and Benefits. However students will need to work towards a level 2 in both Numeracy and literacy if they achieve below a grade C in their GCSE Maths and English.
