Description

This Level 1 NVQ Diploma in Painting and Decorating qualification is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills to pursue a career within the Construction industry. The course supports the knowledge and skills development required for access to higher qualifications in Painting and Decorating. Learners will benefit from tutors with industrial experience, state of the art facilities and resources and real work experience.

Additional Information

You will learn the basic practical and knowledge skills necessary to gain employment and progress on to level 2. These are covered in a range of practical and theory modules.

Optional Modules

Preparation and protecting the work area, prepare a range of work surfaces, wood, metal and plastering surfaces, apply paint by brush and roller, apply coverings to ceilings and walls, erect and dismantle access working platforms and prepare and apply specialist decorative finishes.

Assessment Method

Achievement of this qualification will be assessed via a combination of knowledge testing and competence based assessments within College

Progression Opportunities

Achievement of this qualification will enable the learner to progress to level 2 and follow a career in Painting & Decorating with further progression to Level 3.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirement for this qualification, however learners must have the potential to successfully gain the qualification. The minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16 plus.
