Description

This Level 1 Brickwork qualification has been designed to develop the skills, knowledge and understanding necessary for progression to further training at Level 2. It is also designed to allow you as an employee to demonstrate your competence in an employment role within the sector.

Additional Information

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have GCSE grade C or level 2 Essential Skills in English, Maths and Information Technology. You will also study broader transferable skills in Employability and Personal and Social Development.

Course Content

You will learn the basic practical and knowledge skills necessary to gain employment and progress on to level 2. These are covered in a range of practical and theory modules.

Core Modules

  • Health and Safety in the Workplace,
  • Technical information, quantities and communication,
  • Knowledge of Construction technology,
  • Mix construction materials.
  • Set out and build basic masonry structures
  • Assessment Method

    Achievement of this qualification will be assessed via a combination of knowledge testing in the format of multiple choice questions under exam conditions and practical assessments. Practical assessments will be assessed on work based evidence and direct observation in the workplace.

    Progression Opportunities

    This level 1 qualification will give you an introduction to the hand skills and knowledge required for you to progress onto the Level 2 Bricklaying qualification or into work.

    Entry Requirements

    There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however learners must have the potential to successfully gain the qualification. the minimum age requirement for this qualification is 16 plus.
