This course has a broad application, from school leavers and National Diploma students with a science or business studies background to skilled labour employees wanting to up-skill in the fields of Sustainability and Renewable Energy. Sustainability, energy and the environment are at the forefront of current business and policy priority areas. This course is accredited by the UK Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES) and students are eligible for student membership of the IES.
Sustainability, energy and the environment are at the forefront of current business and policy priority areas and this course offers the opportunity to: Learn about renewable energy technologies and energy efficiency. Investigate strategies for waste and resource management. Develop the business skills necessary to apply this knowledge in a practical working environment. Gain entrepreneurial skills relevant to environmental business development. All presented in a highly accessible format with an emphasis on hands-on project work and relevant up-to-date information.

Students are required to Comply with College Policies and procedures, rules and regulations (available in your Student Diary/Higher Education Handbook, on-line: www.swc.ac.uk and on the College VLE).Submit all coursework and assessments by specified dates, coursework submitted without consent after the deadline shall not normally be accepted.Students are required to meet programme regulations with regards to progression between years.The minimum overall pass mark of 40% is required to be achieved in all modules.

Assessment for each module will take the form of an assignment and an exam, or by assignment only. Exams usually take place in January and May.
Graduates of the BSc in Energy, Environment and Sustainability (EES) will have developed key graduate skills in identifying and working towards targets for personal, academic and career development, developing an adaptable and flexible approach to professional activity, responsible citizenship and the world of work. Graduates of this degree can progress to post-graduate studies in many fields, for example in Environmental Management, or Sustainable Development. In both the public and private sectors there is widespread and increasing interest in a broad range of environmental and sustainability issues and a growing need in the workplace for people with an understanding of the sustainability agenda. An emphasis on employability throughout the BSc. EES programme aims to provide the skills required for future employment in the fields of energy, environmental management, environmental consultancy and sustainable policy development.
A-level: BBB + GCSE English and Mathematics at grade C.BTEC Extended Diploma: any BTEC Extended Diploma with 10 Distinctions and 8 Merits + GCSE Mathematics grade C.Irish Leaving Certificate (Higher Level): B2B2B2B2CC/B2B2B2B2B2 + if not offered at Higher Level, then Ordinary Level grade C in Mathematics.Access: average 65%.
Foundation Degree: candidates will be considered on an individual basis. Offers will normally be based on year 1 performance [normally minimum 55% in each module] and include a specified year 2 average mark and individual module mark targets depending on subject area.OR Mature candidates who cannot offer any of the above will be assessed for admission on the basis of their appropriate skills and knowledge.All candidates must be aged at least 18 years at the date of entry and will be interviewed prior to admission.
