What is ACCA Applied Skills
ACCA is the global body for professional accountants and employers know and respect this qualification and value the skills taught. It is a Level 6 Higher Education Course which is relevant to all areas of accountancy and finance. To become a qualified accountant, you must get relevant, supervised practical experience which proves to the employer that you have the skills necessary to do the job. Choosing the HLA route gives you two years’ practical experience which means that you have just one-year post exams to become a qualified accountant
The ACCA Qualification gives you the most up-to-date skills you need to become a finance professional. Threaded through the whole journey are the ethics and values students need to make a difference. And because you can only qualify after completing at least 36 months of hands-on professional experience, student become exceptionally valuable to employers.
How are the courses delivered?
The ACCA Applied Course commences in September and is delivered on a part-time basis one day per week, term time over two years at Omagh Campus with the other four days in employment

Students are required to:
Comply with College Policies and procedures, rules and regulations (available in your Student Diary/Higher Education Handbook, on- line: www.swc.ac.uk and on the College VLE).
Submit all coursework and assessments by specified dates, coursework submitted without consent after the deadline shall not normally be accepted.
Pass all modules in each year of study in order to proceed to the next year of the programme.Click here for Terms & Conditions
*The minimum overall pass mark of 50% is required to be achieved in all modules.

To achieve the ACCA qualification you must complete exams, an ethics module and practical experience.
BSc (Hons) degree in Applied Accounting
If you did not study an undergraduate degree course at university, then you can still have the chance to gain a degree while studying to become a qualified accountant with ACCA.
In partnership with Oxford Brookes University, you can work towards achieving your ACCA qualification. It is the perfect way to enhance your ACCA qualification and broaden your skill set.
Students need to:
pass the ACCA Qualification exams
pass the Ethics and Professional Skills module
submit a research and analysis project
Masters in Professional Accountancy – Strategic Professional Exams
ACCA are the first accountancy body worldwide to offer an integrated master’s programme. Alongside studying for your professional qualification, you can gain a Master’s in Professional Accountancy from the University of London.
You’ll build on the commercial, strategic and creative skills the ACCA Qualification gives you – and develop both academic and professional perspectives that will give you unique opportunities in your career.
Strategic Professional exams: Strategic Business Leader; Strategic Business Reporting (Compulsory) plus 2 optional from the following: Advanced Financial Management; Advanced Performance Management; Advanced Taxation; Advanced Audit and Assurance.
The minimum entry requirements are:
Level 5 Accounting Technician (ATI) or related qualification
3 GCSE passes including English & Maths or equivalent
2 A Levels or equivalent
Note: This must be in 5 different subjects
