Description

This short course will enable the learner to understand the factors that affect infant mental health and development. The unit will also enable the learner to know how to communicate effectively with infants.

Course Content

There are 5 learning outcomes which are covered, as follows: 1 Know how brain development is linked to infant mental health. 2 Be aware of the factors influencing an infant’s development. 3 Be aware of the key physical care needs of infants. 4 Be aware of how to support the social and emotional development of infants. 5 Know how to effectively communicate with infants.

Assessment Method

Students will be required to produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the learning outcomes.
