HNC in Performing Arts offers students the chance to develop broad range of skills in the subject area. Learners are given the opportunity to build on their existing skills gained at Level 3 in order to pursue a specialist interest and further develop their practical performance skills.

  • Submit all coursework and assessments by specified dates, coursework submitted without consent after the deadline shall not normally be accepted.
  • The minimum overall pass mark of 40% is required to be achieved in all modules.

    Assessment Method

    Assessment is through assignments to be completed throughout the year. These will take a variety of formats including: presentations, written assignments, recorded discussions, practical demonstrations, rehearsal journals, research tasks, evaluations and performances.

    Progression Opportunities

    This course could lead to continued study on a HND programme as well as a career in acting for stage, screen or radio. It also leads directly into further study at higher level in subjects such as Acting, Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, Drama Therapy and Education. The course provides a range of transferable skills which would be useful in a wide range of careers, including: teaching, youth and community work, presenting, marketing, customer service and journalism.
