Description

The BTEC National Extended Diploma will allow learners to enhance their base knowledge from year one, BTEC National Foundation Diploma in Business. Learners will study more in-depth Business subject areas.

Additional Information

Additional programmes of study are also completed in Essential Skills, Social Networking for Business and Employability Skills to enhance students’ key skills.

Course Content

The qualification gives learners the knowledge, understanding and skills that underpin the business sector that will prepare them for further study or training. The course is designed to cover all key topic areas in business: Business environments, Marketing, Finance, Management. In the second year students will be required to undertake additional qualifications and career development as part of their full time studies.

Core Modules

Exploring Business, Developing a Marketing Campaign, Personal and Business Finance, Managing an Event, International Business, Principles of Management, Business Decision Making.

Optional Modules

Recruitment and Selection, Work Experience, Team Building in Business, Digital Marketing, Pitching for a New Business, Business Law.

Assessment Method

The course is assessed using external and internal testing and project based assignments.

Progression Opportunities

On completion of year one and two of this course you will achieve 3 A-level equivalent grades. You can progress on to further study or into employment. Progression on to the Foundation Degree in Business is a popular choice with students.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSE grades C or above to include either Maths or English at grade C (or equivalent) or Level 2 BTEC in Business.
