The Level 3 certificate is ideal if you are working in adult social care in Northern Ireland, or you have some essential knowledge that you wish to develop.
Mandatory Units: Principles of communication in adult social care settings; Principles of personal development in adult social care settings; Principles of Diversity, equality and inclusion in adult social care settings; Principles of safeguarding and protection in health and social care; Principles for implementing duty of care in health, social care or children's and young People's settings; Understand the role of the social care worker; Understand person centred approaches in adult social care settings; Understand health and safety in social care settings; Understand how to handle information in social care settings. Optional Units: Understand employment responsibilities and rights in health, social care or children and young People's settings.
You must complete all nine units worth 21 credits in group A and one unit with a minimum of 3 credits from group B. This qualification is primarily assessed through assignments.
Learners may progress to Level 3 Diploma in Adult Health and Social Care.
A Level 2 qualification in a similar discipline or extensive experience in the area of adult health care. Learners must be vetted in accordance with the requirements of the Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups N.I. Order (2006) (Access N.I.).
