This qualification has been developed in collaboration with Skills for Health, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain and the General Pharamceutical Council to guide and assess the development of knowldge and skills relating to the health workforce in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This qualification confirms competence in a range of skills undertaken by a pharmacy technician or pharmacy assistant.
The course covers modules such as Providing an Effective and Responsive Pharmacy Service, Processing Pharmaceutical queries, Assembling and issuing prescribed items and Preparing Extemporaneous Medicines for Personal Use. The qualification will form part of the requirements for registration as a pharmacy technician. Learners usually do this with the Pearson Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science.
A variety of assessments methods are used for this qualification from practical demonstration to written assignments. There will also be an element of assessment in the workplace.
Successful completion of this qualification along with successful completion of Pearson Level 3 Diploma in Pharmaceutical Science will confirm competences undertken by a pharmacy technician or pharmcy assistent
Learners must attend for interview and be aged over 16 years.
