Description

The aim of this course is to build upon learners' interest in Science, to develop their skills, deepen their understanding, and prepare them for progression into Higher Education or into employment in the Science industry.

Course Content

Course Units: Core units comprise of Fundamentals of Science; Working in the Science Industry; Scientific Investigations; Scientific Practical Techniques; Perceptions of Science; Using Mathematical Tools in Science and Using Statistics in Science. Alongside these core units each campus brings its own unique flavour to this programme with renewable energy and food technology in Dungannon, medical science and forensics in Enniskillen and renewables and forensics in Omagh. Learners will study a variety of other units including; Human Biology; Biochemistry and Biomedical Techniques; Forensic Science; Psychology; Food Technology; and Energy Applications.

Thirteen other units covering a range of scientific topics such as physiology, genetics, infectious diseases, biomedical, energy sources, forensics, psychology, ethics, environmental science, mathematics and chemistry.
