Students Visit Children's Hospice

23 students from south west college had the opportunity to visit Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice in Horizon House Belfast. The 1st and 2nd year National Diploma students had the privilege of a guided tour in the unique childcare facility.
The students were able to gain first-hand experience of the range of services available in the Hospice and explore the therapies children receive in Horizon House. At Northern Ireland Hospice care is provided for support patients and their families who have life-limiting and life threatening illnesses.
Along with a detailed history of the service students learned about the palliative care provided, the age range of children catered for and the end of life care provided. South West College students hope to participate in fundraising for the Northern Ireland Hospice In the coming months to provide continued support for the Hospice.
