Step into Engineering Breakfast Seminar

Over 30 representatives from local engineering companies attended the South West College Dungannon Campus for an early morning breakfast seminar to mark the launch of the Step into Engineering Initiative.

This innovative programme is designed to assist unemployed and economically inactive people in the Dungannon and South Tyrone Borough Council area to develop skills to avail of any employment opportunities, which may exist in the Engineering Sector.

Ciaran McManus, Deputy Head of Training at South West College outlined the benefits of the programme to the employers including the full-funded training for the City and Guilds Level 2 Certificate in Engineering, as well as the opportunity to avail of an employer subsidy should an offer of employment be made to a participant on the programme.  Key note speaker and the founder of Powerscreen International, Pat O’Neill also attended the event to show his backing for the programme.
