South West College one of Northern Ireland’s leading further education colleges has achieved the prestigious Investors in People award, the most successful framework for business improvement through people in the UK, putting South West College at the forefront of good practice. Achievement of the award demonstrates South West College’s commitment to continuous improvement through people and providing valuable development opportunities to its 1,000 strong staff.
South West College, which was established in 2007 and enrols more than 20,000 students per annum, received Corporate Investors in People recognition following three years of strategic innovation-led growth across its four campuses in Fermanagh and Tyrone.The award is presented to companies who demonstrate outstanding leadership and management through the development, delivery and evaluation of business activities which actively improve performance.
South West College Director, Malachy McAleer, said the award was the result of the organisation’s commitment to continuous improvement.

Recently
The college delivers a wide range of vocational and non-vocational courses and has developed partnerships with universities to provide a number of Foundation Degree courses to actively address skills shortages in vital areas and enable students to take first steps towards third level academic achievement.
Importantly the college is also a leading provider of recognised training courses such as Training for Success, Steps to Work and provides vital support services to local schools, businesses, industry organisations and community groups.
