Princes Trust Make a Blooming Good Impact in Cookstown
The students of the Princes Trust programme at South West College, Cookstown Campus, recently volunteered to restore life and colour to a neglected garden at the rear of the Niamh Louise Foundation and Lilac Cancer Support offices on Union Street in Cookstown. The gardens had been neglected and overgrown for some time but two weeks of hard work soon paid off, resulting in a tranquil and aesthetically pleasing area for persons attending both support centres. This community project was funded by Cookstown District Council’s Good Relations Office and the newly rejuvenated gardens were officially opened at a special open event by the Council’s Chairman, Councillor John McNamee.
The next Princes Trust programme will commence on 17th January 2011 at South West College, Cookstown Campus. For further information or advice please call Leon or Niall on 0845 603 1881 Ext. 4202.
