Chelsey to represent Northern Ireland at Commonwealth Games

Chelsey Wilson a Higher National Diploma in Sports Studies student at South West College Enniskillen Campus embarks on India this week as part of team Northern Ireland’s swimming challenge at the Commonwealth Games.  Chesley has a strong record competing at this level having previously taken part in the Youth Commonwealth Games in 2008 where she won silver in the 200m backstroke and bronze in the 100m backstroke.

Chelsey said “I am really looking forward to competing at the Games.  I have put in a lot of hard work over the past few months in preparation for the games”.  Chesley has been enduring a rigorous training schedule, training in Dublin and Ards for the last 8 weeks with Commonwealth Coach Nelson Lindsay, as well as continuing to train at home in Enniskillen with Coach Arunas Savatikas.

The staff and senior management of South West College would like to wish Chesley well in her sporting journey.  Leo Murphy Enniskillen Campus Manager said; “Chesley is a great example of a young woman who is continually striving to perform at exceptional levels.  Chesley is to be commended for her commitment, determination and passion for sport.  The College is very proud of her success to date and wishes her every success in the future”.
