Beauty students 'made up' by visit from Paddy McGurgan

Paddy McGurgan, one of Northern Ireland’s leading make-up artists recently paid a visit to the beauty salon at South West College in Dungannon to showcase his industry leading skills and techniques to the College’s aspiring beauty therapists.

Paddy always had an interest in and appreciation for music, art and theatre but he had never considered painting on anything else but canvas until a friend challenged him to create an original make-up look for a dance competition.  Paddy accepted and the rest he says is ‘history’!

Paddy is currently based in Belfast and he has travelled the world training with international brands including, MAC, Stila, Charles Fox, Laura Mercier and NARS.  He admits the highlight of his training was having the opportunity to work with Kylie Minogue’s personal make-up artist, Karen Adler!

Through a number of practical demonstrations Paddy showcased his skills and offered advice and guidance to the training beauty therapists as they practised their own techniques in key looks such as bridal and catwalk.
