‘Massey’ applause for Fintona man
Mark McCoole, was named runner-up in the 2011 Massey Ferguson Tractor Technician of the Year Awards, held recently in Warwickshire. The competition was open to all engineers working in Massey Ferguson dealerships in the UK and Ireland, regardless of age or experience. Mark, who works as a service engineer with William Bell Tractors, Fivemiletown, was nominated by the Dealer Principal and MF Area Service Manager for Massey-Ferguson after demonstrating outstanding technical ability and a high level of customer service.
Mark attended Omagh Training Centre, now South West College, where he completed a three year apprenticeship in Agricultural Machinery Repair, under the guidance of his tutor Pat O’Hanlon.
Pat O’Hanlon now Deputy Head of Training at South West College said: “I congratulate Mark for this outstanding award; it demonstrates his technical expertise in the agricultural engineering industry and it is a great accolade for this bright service engineer”.
Mark recognised the contribution made by South West College; he praised his tutors and mentor for their continuous support during his apprenticeship and commented: “it gave me the opportunity to learn the diagnostic skills needed to service tractors and machinery and it was a great springboard into employment”.
Mark also expressed sincere thanks to William Bell Tractors and looked forward to continuous success with the company.
General Manager at William Bell Tractors, Samuel Bell said: “It was an excellent achievement and we are all very proud of him. Massey Ferguson obviously recognised Mark’s contribution to the technical support role and his services to our many customers. Mark works as part of a team at William Bell Tractors and as great as the tractors look, they still need highly skilled service technicians, they are an invaluable resource to the company”.
