Active IQ Level 4 Certificate in Strength and Conditioning

This course aims to provide students with the background knowledge and practical skills to be able to plan, deliver and review strength and conditioning programmes that work towards athletes achieving their performance goals. This course is suitable for those currently working in the fitness industry in roles such as personal trainers, sports coaches and strength and conditioning coaches. This is a bespoke, industry relevant qualification which helps currently qualified fitness instructors to build upon their professional competence and to open up further employment opportunities. In order to possess and demonstrate a suitable level of occupational competence, instructors are now bespoke qualification within this discipline.

Recreational Tai Chi for Beginners/Intermediates

This course has been designed for those who have an interest in participating in Tai-Chi at a recreational level. This class is open to participants of all ages and abilities. Tai-Chi is a form of physical exercise that combines breathing control, relaxation with flowing physical movements. Tai- chi can help participants to reduce stress, improve posture, enhance balance and increase muscle strength in the legs.

This course has been designed for those who have an interest in participating in Yoga at a recreational level. This class is open to participants of all ages and abilities. Yoga is a form of physical exercise that focuses on the promotion of mental and physical well-being. Progressing through a series of postures (movements designed to increase strength and flexibility) and breathing techniques.

VTCT Level 3 Diploma in Sports Massage

This course is suited to students interested in learning the skills to become a sports massage practitioners. Students will be trained in a realistic working environment in the college’s state of the art salons. Students will experience the commercial salon and will engage with customers.

VTCT Level 4 Certificate in Sports Therapy Massage

This qualification will prepare you for working with injured clients. You will develop a number of skills which include: skills to conduct subjective and objective assessments, covering passive and resisted range of movements, posture analysis, functional and special tests, skills to work safely and effectively on muscles and para-tendon injuries using a variety of soft tissue techniques and you will be able to advise on treatment modalities to support soft tissue repair.
