NVQ Level 3 Heritage Skills (Construction) Training for Experienced Craftspeople

Are you a Stonemason, Joiner or Plasterer with experience of working on traditional buildings?

To become a qualified heritage craftsperson, the NVQ Level 3 is essential in recognising the specific skills you have.

South West College is offering the NVQ Level 3 in Heritage Skills (Construction) through work-based learning, with support from tutors and assessors.

The programme offers the following professional pathways:

  • Mason - Stonemasonry Heritage Skills

  • Wood Occupations - Heritage Joinery

  • Plastering (Solid) - Lime Plastering

In addition to gaining a professional qualification, the benefits of the NVQ Level 3 in Heritage Skills include:

The NVQ Level 3 in Heritage Skills will be gained through creating a portfolio of work-based evidence. Each professional craftsperson will be assigned a tutor/assessor for advice and guidance. The evidence portfolio can be completed at the learner’s own pace.
