On Monday 4th May, second year students and staff from the National Diploma in Travel and Tourism at South West College, Dungannon Campus flew out to Palma, Majorca for one week as part of their Residential Study Unit.
The students will work to a jam-packed and fun schedule and take on the professional role of tour guides by researching, organising and evaluating a number of excursions to local attractions in Palma, Palma Nova, Magalluf and Soller.
The itinerary also includes a visit to Calvia Council, where the students will be briefed on the development and impact of mass tourism in the local area and the importance of creating sustainable tourism before returning to the College to complete their course.
