The South West College operates in four campuses in Cookstown, Dungannon, Enniskillen and Omagh and, of the six new area based colleges, it is the smallest in size, but arguably, covers the largest geographical area of counties Tyrone and Fermanagh.

As a result of this merger, there is now an opportunity to enlarge and expand the curriculum offers to support the regional and local economy. The College aims to provide a caring and supportive environment for all learners and a professional business-like relationship with all employers and other external stakeholders. The South West College has 18,500 student enrolments, is involved in a number of European projects, and has a staffing complement of 479 full-time staff and a similar number of part-time staff and a budget of £35M.

Renewable Engine Research & Innovation Co-ordinator
The Renewable Engine Research & Innovation Co-ordinator will be responsible for the co-ordination of research activities between the academic and industrial partners of the INTERREG VA project. The R&I Co-ordinator will be required to ensure project targets and outcomes are achieved and the needs of industry are met. This will involve management of research programmes and staff. The R&I Co-ordinator will be required to directly liaise between the project partners (SWC, IT Sligo, Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Strathclyde), associate partners, the project funders and other stakeholders both nationally and internationally.

Renewable Engine Post Doctoral Researcher
The Renewable Engine Post-Doc Researcher will be responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of research activities undertaken by the PhD researchers on behalf of the industrial partners of the INTERREG VA project. The Post Doctoral Researcher will be required to ensure project targets and outcomes are achieved and the needs of industry are met through the research carried out. This will involve co-ordination of research activities and staff. The Post-doc Researcher will undertake R,D&I projects on behalf of industry and assist the PhD researchers deliver their programmes of work.

Renewable Engine Programme Manager
The Renewable Engine Programme Manager will be responsible for management and delivery of the Renewable Engine INTERREG VA project activities, associated targets and outcomes. This will involve management of project budget and activity targets including the research super-cluster (SWC, IT Sligo, Queen’s University Belfast and University of Strathclyde), client companies, associate partners, stakeholders and project board. Liason with the project funders (SEUPB) and other stakeholders both nationally and internationally will be a core task with the objective of raising the profile and knowledge of the project.
