The aim of this course is to build upon learners' interest in Science, to develop their skills, deepen their understanding, and prepare them for progression into Higher Education or into employment in the Science industry with a focus on Food Technology. The practical nature of the course is designed to develop learners' practical skills and expertise in the area of applied sciences through hands on experience, case studies and projects.
The aim of this course is to build upon the interest learners already have in the field of Art and Design and prepare them either to progress to Higher Education in the field, or to enter the industry directly. The practical nature of the course is designed to develop learner's expertise of the area of Fine Art and Large and Small Scale Design. Through hands on projects, they will develop skills, knowledge and understanding. A range of carefully selected topics equip learners with a broad view of all the main subjects needed to fully understand this area, and to be able to design and implement projects to a high standard.
This two-year course is equivalent to 3 A Levels. It’s designed to give you the knowledge, skills and understanding to secure employment in the business sector or to progress to Higher Education. You can opt to leave after one year of study, which will give you a 90 Credit Diploma, which is equivalent to 1.5 A Levels.
The aim of this course is to build upon the interest learners already have in the field of Creative Media Production, for example, Film, TV, Journalism, Advertising and Design. Learners will develop a substantial common core of knowledge, including pre-production techniques, critical approaches to media products and an understanding of the creative media sector. Through work related projects and coursework, they will develop practical skills relevant to the broad range of roles within the media industry.
The BTEC Extended Diploma in Engineering is designed to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding required for success in a range of mechanical and electrical/electronic engineering occupations. The qualification is also suitable for learners who have not yet decided on a particular engineering specialism and who wish to gain a broader understanding of engineering. College facilities, such as the new state of the art Idea Centre, provide an opportunity for project based learning.
