Description

This course is designed for those who find themselves working in an accounting environment either in private practice, industry or the public sector. If you are involved in cash management, preparation of accounts, payroll, sales accounting, credit control, costing or budgeting then this qualification will certainly enhance your career prospects. It is a one year part-time programme.

Additional Information

During your course you may be required to purchase course text books and incur additional costs for printing, photocopying and binding. The overall additional costs incurred to support your studies may be in the region of £250 per year.

Course Content

The Certificate for Accounting Technicians comprises of four modules: Financial Accounting; Taxation; Law and Ethics; and Business Management. This combination of modules is designed to provide Learners with a solid grounding in business as well as a strong foundation in accountancy. Based on past qualifications, Learners may be able to claim exemptions from one or more of the Level 4 modules. Exemptions are granted by the Awarding Body Accounting Technicians Ireland.

Assessment Method

All modules are assessed by means of externally set examinations - held in May and/or August yearly.

Progression Opportunities

Upon successful completion of the Level 4 qualification Learners can progress to Level 5 Diploma for Accounting Technicians.

Entry Requirements

One A Level or two AS Levels with grades in English and at least one subject from Maths or Accounts (C or above in GCSE) or other equivalent qualification. Refer to general entry requirements.
