During your course you may be required to purchase course text books and incur additional costs for printing, photocopying and binding. The overall additional costs incurred to support your studies may be in the region of £250 per year.

Course Content

The Diploma for Accounting Technicians comprises of four modules: Advanced Financial Accounting; Advanced Taxation; Management Accounting; and Integrated Accounting Systems. This combination of modules is designed to build on what Learners have gained at Level 4 and develops a stronger foundation in accountancy. Learners who pass all modules at the higher levels can proceed to professional accountancy programmes and may be eligible to claim some exemptions.

Assessment Method

All assessment is based on 3 hour examinations taken in May, and/or August, except for the Integrated Accounting module which is examined in April, and/or August.

Progression Opportunities

The Diploma is a highly regarded qualification in its own right and well respected by employers. Some Learners progress on to the professional level programmes with the different Accountancy Awarding Bodies; others progress to relevant degree programmes.

Entry Requirements

This programme is for those who have successfully completed Level 4 or who have gained relevant exemptions from the Level 4 programme. International students must meet the general entrance requirements for admission to any College First Degree, Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma. English language requirements for international applicants is Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5. Trinity ISE – Pass at Level 3 also meets this requirement for Tier 4 visa purposes.
