Description

This qualification forms part of the Apprenticeship in Pharmacy Services. At Level 2, learners will gain the knowledge to work in a pharmacy team, process prescriptions and manage stock. The Apprenticeship is fully funded by the Department for Employment and Learning.

Course Content

Learners complete three core units at level 2: Communicating with pharmacy customers; Law, regulation, health and safety in pharmacy; Working in the pharmacy team. Learners also choose three optional units from a range, including: Preparing for and manufacture of aseptic products; Ordering and issuing stock in the pharmacy; Assembling prescriptions safely.

Assessment Method

Assessment is carried out through multiple choice online exams, portfolio work and work based assesments.

Progression Opportunities

Learners can progress to the Level 3 Apprenticeship to gain the knowledge and experience necessary to become a Pharmacy Technician.

Entry Requirements

Learners must be working in a pharmacy environment for a minimum of 21 hours per week. Ideally learners will hold passes in GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
