IAB Level 2 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping

The IAB Level 2 Award in Computerised Bookkeeping is aimed at Learnerss who wish to further their studies of computerised bookkeeping, having achieved a recognised Level 1 qualification or by those Learners who have some practical knowledge and skills in the area. Owners of small businesses may also find this qualification useful as it gives coverage of the use of commercially available computerised software, suitable for the production of small business accounts.

Course Content

This is mainly a practical course, using SAGE Software. To achieve this qualification, two mandatory units (6 credits)must be achieved Setting up Accounting Software to Manage Accounting iInformation -and Process Routine Payments and Receipts using a Computerised system. Areas covered in the units include Health, Safety and Security, Setting up the System, Creating and Maintaining accounts, Entering opening balances, Carrying out Bank Reconciliation Statements, Calculating the VAT Liability, doing entries by Journal as well as Producting information and Reports for Management

Assessment Method

Learners will be assessed by a 2 hour externally assessed examination, with additional time for printing.

Progression Opportunities

Learners can progress to the Level3 qualification or undertake Payroll qualifications. Qualifications in Administration and Accounting are also available
