Description

The course is designed to prepare students for a variety of careers across the photographic industry though gaining the skills and knowledge currently most in demand in industry. It will provide specific practical and professional skills, and transferable skills in analysis, organisation, design, teamwork and communication. Throughout the year learners will have the opportunity to work on live projects from local businesses. Day trips are used to enhance skills, techniques and creativity.

During your course you may be required to purchase course text books and incur additional costs for printing, photocopying and binding. The overall additional costs incurred to support your studies may be in the region of £250 per year.

Modules include: Photographic Materials, Techniques and Technology; Location Photography; Specialist Practice in Photography; Management of Art Exhibitions; Project Design; Implementation and Evaluation; Digital Image Creation; Managing a Creative Business; and Business Practice in Art and Design.

Assessment Method

Assessment will be carried out by the use of coursework and practical assignments throughout the duration of the course. There are no formal examinations.

On successful completion of the course learners can progress to university to complete their degree.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of the HNC Diploma in Photography or equivalent. Refer to general entry requirements. International students must meet the general entrance requirements for admission to any College First Degree, Foundation Degree or Higher National Diploma. English language requirements for international applicants is Academic IELTS 6.0 with no band score less than 5.5. Trinity ISE – Pass at Level 3 also meets this requirement for Tier 4 visa purposes.
